Saltwater fishing is continueing to be very good. There is a healthy population of winter Chinook holding at the Cape Mudge Lighthouse, the Hump, and across the channel between Willow and Shelter  Points. The best tackle choices right now are small spoons, plugs, and needelfish hoochies.

Prawning has been rewarding as well, with full traps being pulled by many fishers.

Freshwater fishing has been a bit tough this week as temperatures have plummeted. As water volume in rivers drops, fish become lethargic and unreponsive to most tackle presentations. It is usually neccessary to reduce the size of terminal tackle to avoid spooking fish or turning them off the bite.

Lake fishing, due to warmer water temperatures, is a bit more reliable.
