Saltwater fishing has been good this week, when weather conditions were favourable. The majority of effort is being concentrated on the western side of Discovery Passage, near Shelter Point. Anglers have been using medium sized tackle to try to keep the number of under-sized fish down to a minimum. Try Coyote spoons in 4" Silver Glow or Army Truck, Tiger Prawn or Christmas Tree  Hoochies, or Tomic plugs in 5".

Freshwater fishing has also been good with most anglers beginning to focus on winter run Steelhead. There are catchable numbers of fish in the Nimpkish, Quinsam and Gold rivers. The recent rain we have received should, along with mild temperatures, prove conducive to fish moving into freshwater.

Lake fishing has been good as well. Most creeks that are large for trout to spawn in  will have a concentration of trout at the mouth. There are several techniques for catching these fish, ranging from trolling around the mouth of the creek, to casting a spoon or spinner, or plunking bait.
